Last night, the guy from WPLJ's called...just when I started eating dinner (spaghetti) and watching Skating with Celebrities. Bernard started teasing me. We only talked for a few minutes. He asked me again what I do. I told him direct marketing for PS and told him that direct marketing was like advertising but a a little different. Then he told me he was a mechanic. I said yeah...a smog technician. He said "You remembered." I said "Yeah, I have a good memory." Then he asked if I wanted to go to dinner sometime. I said yeah but weekdays are usually not good because I get home late and this weekend was bad because it was Superbowl weekend and I was helping Liz with errands for her party. I asked him if he had plans for the Superbowl. He said yes. Then he asked if I liked football. I said yes. He said not a lot of girls do. Then I said that I like a lot of sports...hockey, baseball, basketball. Then he asked if I liked soccer. I said a little. Then he asked when is the best time to call him. I said usually at this time (8:30) during weeknights and it depends during the weekends. Then he asked if I needed his number. I said sure. So he gave me his number. Then we said goodbye...he'll either call me or I'll call him. Anyways, I'm kinda glad that we didn't talk that long otherwise I would have missed "24" or "Flight 93" or "The Gauntlet 2" (24 was cool. Flight 93 was sad. Beth in the Gauntlet 2 is a bitch but Timmy/Landon are hotties.)

It was kind of weird. I just felt uncomfortable. Other than Joey, Scott, and James; I've only went out with two other guys--Pat Ilao and James Woods. I went out with Pat on one date we were close to "going out" but not quite. James Woods and I went out on two dates. I think the only reason I went out with them was because I didn't want to say "No" and hurt their feelings. I kinda knew that nothing would happen. But my relationships with Joey, Scott, and James were different. I knew each of them long before we started going out. Joey because of Aimee, Scott because of school, and James because of work. And the longer I knew them the longer the relationship lasted. Friends make the best lovers. But I digress... I don't know what to do. I don't want to hurt this guy's feelings. He's not my type at all. And I bet that he's much younger than me. But I keep telling myself that I should give it a try. But what if I do get into a relationship that I don't want but don't know how to end. Help...

I saw the Starbuck's guy again this morning. He is sooooo cute. I think he has either brown or hazel eyes...don't think he has blue eyes like James or even green eyes...kinda hard to tell because it's kinda dark in Starbucks. He got me my tall mild drip with room for cream and a chocolate croissant. He must have started early this morning eventhough he worked late last night...on my way to the BART station last night I stopped by to get a snack (a cookie) because I didn't eat much for lunch (not really into Mediterranean). Glad I did because I was able to see him. I wonder if he has a girlfriend. But what if he has a boyfriend and is gay (my gaydar isn't that great...having fallen for Kevin years ago). I don't think he is. I hope he isn't. I wish I could get the nerve to flirt or even ask for his number but I can't.

Went to WPLJ's last night (late notice from choir members). Some guy ended up asking me to dance. He wasn't my type but I love to dance and said fine. Plus, it didn't help that everyone was pushing me to say yes. Ended up dancing for about 5 songs (could have danced longer but everyone was leaving and I had to drive Raquel home). Found out that he's from LA but now lives here and works as a smog technician. He smelled good...Gio (the same cologne Joey used). He kept wanting to freak but I didn't feel like it. A couple of times he turned around and pulled me towards him. And he kept wanting to come behind me but I kept moving so I would always face him. During the last song he took my right hand and with his left arm pulled me towards him and we danced like that the entire song. His nearness turned me on. Then thoughts started coming to mind. I haven't been with a man in almost six years. I was so tempted. I could but I'm not that type of girl. He kept wanting to buy me a drink but I told him that I already had one. Then I told him that I don't drink. He probably wanted to get me drunk. Anyways everyone had to leave, I didn't want to be there by myself...didn't trust myself. Plus I had to pick up Raquel. Auntie Irma and Fatima told me to give him my number so I did...my home phone.

Saw that cute guy who works at Starbucks today. I didn't think he would be working because he's usually off on Tuesdays and Wednesday.

Anyways, my infatuation over him has gottten worse and I think it's because I'm over HIM. He definitely looks like James but with a beard. Why is he growing the beard? Just a few months he didn't have one. I'm not really into facial hair. He would be much cuter without it but I guess I've gotten used to it.

He knows my name, but I don't know his. He knows my usual order...in the mornings it's a tall/grande mild drip with room for cream and in the afternoons it's a tall/grande coffee frappuccino with extra whip cream (which he usually puts in a larger cup so I get even more whip cream) but lately it's been so cold I've been getting white mochas. But I digress. I don't know anything about him except that he works at Starbucks and that he's cute...about six feet tall, brown hair, broad shoulders, gorgeous smile. I wish I could get to know him better but I'm not that forward. Wish I was...

Winter always makes me think of James. Not just because it's the holidays and I wonder what he's doing and if he'll ever try to contact me. But every once in a while I'm reminded of him when I see poinsettias because his great grandfather Ecke started the poinsettia farm in Oceanside. I remember how he used to talk about his grandmother and her family; how his dad inherited some money and gave his brother, his sister, and him a portion of it; and how he used it to buy his drumset. I wonder if he ever thought about the "family" business. Even though he's said that he loves the Bay Area and has wanted to live in Boston, I think he's in San Diego somewhere since that's where his family is.

Last weekend was MLK Jr Holiday Weekend. I ended up going to Lake Tahoe with Liz, Bev, Manny, Siah, EJ, Raquel, Marie, and Jackie. We had a lot of fun.
Friday - Worked late so I had to change the car rental reservations. Didn't even get done so I told myself that I'd work sometime during the weekend. Rushed to BART to pick up the SUV at SFO. Worked a little on BART. Got to SFO ended up in line for about 20 minutes. Got car around 9:30. It was a Trailblazer...a new one with only 256 miles. Drove home hoping to get to Walgreens before they close so I can get some allergy pills which were on sale but they were already closed. Then I picked up Liz at home so we can pick up my car at PH BART. We went home ot drop off my car and pick up some dirty clothes so I can do laundry at her house since the dryer was broken. Turns out the girls needed to dry clothes too (why didn't they do it earlier). Anyways, as we waited for laundry to dry we watched Gilmore Girls. Didn't get home until around 1:30 and packed. Slept around 2am.

Saturday - Woke up at 6am. Showered eventhough I wasn't planning to since I figured I'd be sweating later. Got to Bev's around 7am. Had breakfast and waited for Liz. We loaded both Chevy Trailblazers in the rain and were off by around 8am. We stopped at Cordelia for gas. Then we stopped at Walgreens at W. Sac. for allergy pills and snacks. Then we stopped at Kmart at Placerville for sleds and boots. We hit traffic because of the heavy snow so people were having to stop to put on snow chains. We didn't have to stop because we had 4-wheel drives and the SUV I was driving had snow tires (supposedly). We had to stop though because Liz had to pee. Then we made another stop because Bev had to pee. Then we had to take another bathroom break. Finally got to Lake Tahoe around 1:30. We stopped at McDonalds for lunch. Then we went to the motel--Tahoe Chalet Inn. As I was checking in, everyone was playing in snow even Siah. We unloaded the SUVs. We watched football--Washington losing to Seattle and I built a snowman. We went to go sledding but it was getting dark so we went to Raley's for snacks and drinks (Smirnoff Ice) then to Applebee's for dinner. It was yummy. Every now and then I catch a glimpse of the football game--Broncos winning against Patriots. Then we went to Harrah's. Bev and Manny went to gamble. Liz and I went with the "kids" and watch Siah for awhile. Then I went to play rapid roulette. At one point I was up $25, but I ended up losing $15. We went back to the motel and talked a bit. Kind of PO'd because we couldn't get the doors opened between the adjoining rooms.

Sunday - I kept waking up--3am, 6:30, and finally at 7am because of my sinuses. Got ready while everyone was still sleeping. Didn't shower because I figured that we'd be sweating. Got donuts and coffee at the office. Everyone finally woke up and started getting ready. We loaded car but the door was sticking and the windows were frozen. I had to get all the snow off of the car and scrape the ice off of the windows with the Harrah's card. Frozen windows and doors. Then we went sledding by Heavenly. It took us awhile to find parking. We had so much fun. Siah went down a couple of times with Bev and with Manny. I went down about 5 times. Siah liked falling into the snow. We buried EJ and Then Manny and EJ started building a ramp. I had fun going down a went over it about 4 times. So much fun. I wish we coud have gone snowboarding but sledding was fun. Then we went and had lunch at Mandarin Garden and shopped at the Adidas Outlet. Ended up not buying anything. Then we got coffee at Starbucks and got gas at Chevron. Only got $10 because it was so expensive. We hit traffic on Hwy 50 so it took us about 4 hours to get home. We got pizza from Pacifica Pizza Martinez and ate at Bev's. Drove Jackie to BART then went back to Bev's to get my wallet. When I got home I worked a little bit.
Monday - Woke up late--9am and got ready. Dropped off car at SFO and did more work on BART. Took the bus home. Then went to Target to look for lotion and Kinder's for lunch--rib-eye sandwich (YUM!) and Barnes & Noble for the Sunday paper (which they didn't have). Did laundry and more work. Cleaned my room a little bit while watching the Golden Globes. Then went to bed. Woke up the next morning and had a great dream about HIM. I thought I was over him but I guess subconsciously I wasn't.

Going to Tahoe again Sat & Sun with the family. First time Siah will see snow. Wish we could go snowboarding but we're just going to go sledding because cousins can't afford it. Wish we could have rented a townhome for the long weekend but Liz has to get home by Sunday afternoon because of plans with Brian. Oh well! We'll have lots of fun. Can't wait.

Last Saturday was Siah's birthday party at Fuddrucker's in WC. He got a Batman cake. Got lots of presents. Mostly clothes. I got him a cute overall outfit and a SF Giants outfit. Got him Where the Wild Things Are for his Leap Pad. He was so cute. After that I went shopping for stuff then went to Auntie Irma's for the after-party party with the cousins (Bev, Hazel, EJ, Raquel) and their boyfriends/friends (Manny, Jesse, Marie). We watched my DVD of Michael Buble. They drank Smirnoff Ice. Then Liz & Brian showed up. They started playing poker. Then some of us started karaoke singing. It was fun watching Siah play around. Had fun playing with his drums (remembered James). Didn't get home until around 2am. Had lots of fun.

Sunday. Went to Church. Did some more cleaning. Cleaning the floor to make sure there's no bacteria after the pipes had backed up. Took down the Christmas lights in front of the house. Took down the decorations from Christmas tree, from the mantle, from the windows, and the wreath on door. Didn't have time to do more cleaning because I had to do laundry at the laundromat because the dryer is broken. A lot of things seem to have gotten broken since the girls started living here--the dryer, the pipes being backed up, the toilet being backed up, my CD player in the car, the DVD player. It also seems that I do a lot of cleaning (but never seem to have enough time to get everything done) and cooking and that things seem to go missing. Oh well.

Tuesday - Siah, Bev, Marie, and Raquel came to visit me at work. GK was really sweet...playing with Siah. Bev and Marie thought he was sweet and cute so asked why don't I go out with him. I later told them that I think he's sweet and cute too but he's Jewish. It's not that I'm biased. He seemed to be a practicing Jew. I got to mass almost every Sunday and the important holy days. So it just wouldn't work. It'd be too confusing.

It's been a pretty busy holiday season. Lots of shopping because Liz moved out so we're not sharing on the christmas list. Didn't get to mail Holiday cards until the week before Christmas. Didn't get my Holiday e-cards out until a few days before Christmas because I had to update the homepage of my website and finish  my annual newsletter.

12/23 - Was hoping to leave early to wrap gifts for the Alejandro family and the Raz family. But I didn't leave until after 7pm because of a problem with the survey. It was  frustrating and I felt like crying--I was the only one in the office and the survey had to be live before we left for the holidays. Got help from DB and RE. Liz called saying Chris was going to her house for Christmas Eve dinner and to just wrap gifts that night at her house. But when I got back from buying the Cathy Jeans "gift certificate" for Bev, I was too tired so I just went to bed.

12/24 - Brought gifts to Liz's house. Started wrapping while watching some of the games. I needed to get gift cards from Best Buy because Liz didn't think that Dustin and Andrew would like the beanies I got. She also needed a few things from Costco so I just did her grocery shopping. After dropping off the stuff at her house, I went home to shower and got dressed. Just barely finished wrapping when Chris arrived at 7pm. Made mini pigs-in-the-blanket. Had fun with Liz, Chris, John, John Jr (future Godson #3), Bobby, Drew, Drew's friend, Bernard, Raquel, Marie and Brian. They left about an hour after midnight.

12/25 - Went to Church. Sang at 11am mass. Choir kinda messed up. Watched football. Watched the Heat beat Lakers. I was glad eventhough Lakers used to be my favorite team. (I like Miami now because of the whole Shaq/Kobe issue and Riley's back coaching). Went to Fatima's party. Bev, Siah, and Manny didn't go. John & Irina asked me to be John Paul's Godmother. Wow! Godson #4. Just realized both Godsons are named John. Furthermore, all Godson's names start with J--Jordan, Josiah, John Jr., John Paul. But I digress. Had fun at Fatima's. Made a gingerbread house. Sang karaoke. Ate alot. Took care of John Paul. Loved giving gifts. Funny. Robert dressed up as Santa but Casey and Clarissa didn't notice that Santa was their dad. Ended up leaving around 1:30am and didn't get to bed until around 2am.

12/26 - Wanted to wake up early to go shopping because Target opened at 7am. Didn't wake up until 6:45. So I just washed my face and brushed my teeth. Didn't take a shower but changed clothes.Went with Target, Kmart, and Michaels with Marie because Raquel had to work. Then went home to pick up the gifts and went to Liz's for the gift exchange. Bev, Manny, EJ, Siah, and Auntie Irma show up late. Siah playing with the gorilla slippers I got him. Also got him a Tumble Tigger but wasn't quite as interested in it as the slippers. Also got him a couple of outfits. Can't wait for his birthday which is in about 1-1/2 weeks. Got him a 49er sweatsuit, Giants tank/shorts set, Wild Things Leap Pad software, and books. Went shopping at Walmart and Rite Aid. Went back to hang out at Auntie Irma's. Sang karaoke. Went shopping with Liz to find candy cane rope light. Went back and watched Auntie Irma open up her gift from Raquel...she was so surprised when she realized it was lingerie.

12/27 - Woke up  late. Cleaned refrigerator and parts of the kitchen. Did more after Christmas shopping. Bought Michael Buble at Tower Books. Watched Michael Buble.

12/28 - Woke up late. Cleaned kitchen, some of parts of the bathroom, laundry room, 1/2 bath. More shopping.

12/29 - Woke up late. Cleaned bathroom again. Hung out with Bev, Siah, and Raquel. Went ice skating in Walnut Creek. I had so much fun the first time I went ice skating a couple of weeks ago. I was afraid that I'd fall but I didn't. It's just like rollerblading. Maybe I should dig out my rollerblades and start rollerblading again. Siah had fun. He wanted to skate by himself. I knew that he'd like it. Can't wait for Bev to send me the pictures. Then we watched Chronicles of Narnia. I was a bit reluctant to go because of Siah. I just hope the other people weren't annoyed when he'd talk.

12/30 - Dropped off donations. Went to Target to check if discounts were down to 75% off. They weren't. Then I went to work to do some filing. Didn't finish because of virus and spyware on laptop. Finally got virus quarantined. Watered plants. Went through about 1/2 of paperwork. Left work around 6:30. Got home and wrapped gifts while watching Michael Buble. While I was wrapping I noticed that it was raining. It was still raining by the time I went to bed at 2am.

12/31 - Went Longs to buy 75% off Christmas stuff. Returned some stuff at JC Penney and Target. Went to Liz's when I found out she had a poker night and her old boss gave her two 49er tickets. She and Brian couldn't go so she gave me the tickets. Went home and turned on tv to check scores of the football game but found out I-80 near Fairfield was flooded. So Raquel and I  had to take an alternate way to Sacramento--680 S, 580 E, 5N, 50 E for Auntie Cecilia's birthday and New Year's Eve Party at Ate Myrna. Took 2 hours. Had to get the cake in Sacramento instead of Vallejo. Party was a little bit boring. Watched Megan and Andrea open up birthday and Christmas gifts. Karaoke. Dancing. More gifts. Auntie Cecilia blowing candles off of the cake. Watched the ball drop. Then I whipped out my Michael Buble DVD. Got Kuya Edgar and Kuya Albert converted. I think Auntie Cecilia also liked it. Through out the whole show, Kuya Edgar kept teasing me saying that I should marry him. Right. (turns out he's already engaged, also found out that he slept with several women when he was on tour in the Philippines).

1/1 - Finally went to sleep around 3am. Woke up at 7:30. Brushed teeth. Washed face and changed clothes. Went to Starbucks and drove home. Got home around 11am. Took quick shower. Drove Raquel to work. Drove to Monster Park for 49er game. Ended up going by myself because no one else could go. It only took 45 minutes to get to the game. Sat in rain and wind. Thank God had umbrella sweatshirt with hood and jacket with hood. It was cold. Ate Philly cheesteak and drank hot cocoa. 49ers win in OT after an interception (which I called just seconds before it happened) and a field goal.

1/2 - Back at work. Saw the cute guy at Starbucks.

1/3 - Everyone back at work.

Guy who works at Starbucks across the office. He looks like James. Tall. Broad shoulders. Dark hair. From behind he reminds me of James when we worked at Fenton's.  And he remembers my name.
Guy who works at Longs Drugs by the house. Just adorable.
And finally...Michael Buble!! Love his voice. He's such a great singer. And a great entertainer. He's renewed my interest in Jazz.

But they're younguns. The guy from Starbucks can't be older than 28. The guy from Longs can't be older than 25. And Michael Buble is 30.
