    Last weekend before the wedding

Friday started out on a good note. Because of the Memorial Day holiday, the office was only open until 12noon. Unfortunately I had to work until around 2:30. Went home, ate, and surfed for Hayden (I really like his name, if I have a son I'd name him Hayden or Colby or jr.) Found out about having to pick up Auntie Cecilia in Benicia.Mom didn't tell me earlier so I was po'd. She only told me that she wanted to visit Uncle Joe at the cemetary because Auntie Ely hasn't visited him yet. I was okay with that. If I had known we were going to Benicia I wouldn't have taken my time because I knew that there'd be traffic. On the way to Benicia got gas and took the shortcut through Martinez to get on the last on-ramp before the bridge. Brings back memories when Scott and I used to commute to LMC together. Got Austin a graduation card and got cash for his gift. She just had to do it. When Auntie Cecilia gets in the car she has a critical look in her eyes. I just knew it. She's thinking that I've gained weight again. I can't help it. I go to work early. I eat lunch late because it's busy at work. Then I go home late and eat dinner late. I get a lot of sweets (frappucino, ice cream, chocolate) because I need sugar to keep me up. I'm too tired on the weekend to exercise. I don't walk as often because of the car. If I didn't feel so tired I'd walk up to the Veteran's Memorial and read a book. Or I'd join the YMCA and get back into swimming. Oh how I loved the water. Remember going to the beach almost every weekend when I was growing up in Guam. Or taking swimming class at the Academy and at LMC for PE. Or taking in a morning or evening swim at RIT even in the dead of winter. Oh how I miss swimming. If I could I would rollerblade or play on a team (I just love football or softball). Why do I feel so tired??? But I digress. She just had to think it. After picking up Auntie Cecilia we went through Vallejo to Richmond and took I-80 to SF. We Hit a lot of traffic in Berkeley. Should have taken 680. Oh well. Arrived at Ate Racels around 8pm but no one there. Finally they showed up at 8:30. Ate a little. Got bored. We left SF around 10 o'clock and didn't get home until around 11. Saturday was another busy day. Had a hair appointment at noon so I had to do errands in the morning...watered the plants, planted my two new santana hibiscus plants--one on each side of the driveway, did some weeding, tried to install the new 108 Mbps wireless router since Liz took the old one to her house (at least I got a better one than her 54Mbps) but wasn't successful (couldn't remember the DSL sign in info so I gotta look for it), went to the hair appointment, went to lunch with Mom, auntie Ely and Liz at Sweet Tomatoes, went shopping at Bed Bath & Beyond, went to get mom's dress for the wedding altered, went to find another dress for the wedding, went to buy pies at Nation's for the choir's May birthday celebration. Played with Siah, sang karaoke, ate a lot. People trying to set me up with a guy there who's not my type. No one said anythng to me but I knew because Arlene let it slip on Tuesday that they wanted me to meet someone. I tried to play it cool and that I didn't know what they were doing and didn't hang around them as much by playing with Siah. Sunday - Woke up late for Church. Stopped by Starbucks for coffee. Stopped by Target to check out the sales. Found Lifehouse's new CD on sale and got it. Gotta come back for storage shelves and air mattresses. Got to Church with 10 minutes to spare but mom's shoes broke. That's what she gets for buying cheap shoes in the Philippines. Had to go and save some seats for Auntie Irma and family so mom says she'll just stay in the car. I argue with her a bit and tell her to go inside Church and I'll fix it there. She says no. After a minute I say okay. I save a whole row but 5 minutes into mass Auntie Irma and family don't show up so people end up sittng in our pew. Waited for Auntie Ely but didn't see her. Text Hazel during Homily. She says they woke up late. Oh well. After collections, I leave thinking I could take mom back home to change her shoes. But Auntie Ely was inside. So I go back and finish mass but don't take communion. Feel bad...with it being Corpus Christi. After mass we went home to change shoes. Then go shopping at Broadway Plaza. Then we go home. Watered my plants and did some more moving. When I was watering my plants, I started to wonder. Why do they call it strawberries? Strawberries don't look like straw at all. Neither do the plants. Hmmm... Anyways, on to Monday Monday - Did some more moving. Went to Home Depot, Target Concord and Walnut Creek (to buy air mattresses), Bills' Ace Hardware, TAP Plastics, and Goldilocks with Liz, mom, and Auntie Ely. Spent time in the garden watering re-potting plants. Someone or something dug up some of my gladiolous bulbs--I bet it's the kids next door. A couple of days ago noticed that one of the panels from the fence was loose. And yesterday I noticed that one of my extra tomato stakes was stuck between a gap in the fence. Damn kids! They're loud (scream and yell Saturday and Sunday mornings) and now this. I don't think Liz, Bernard, Michelle and I were like that. If we were, I'd like to apologize to all our old neighbors. I started a couple of loads of laundry before we headed to Liz's house for dinner. She didn't have dinner ready because she was still doing planning seating with Jan. So we didn't eat dinner until 9pm. I was starving. Got to watch the A's comeback to win against the D-Rays. Then we watched InfernoII on MTV. The good guys won!! Yea!! Love Landon and Mike. Their team rocks. Hate Abe, CT, Veronica, and Rachel. They're mean to Dan and Tanya. I feel bad for Dan because he was voted to be in Inferno against Landon. I don't want Dan to go but I gotta root for the Good Guys because I don't want the aforementioned Bad Asses to win. Hoping Dan or Landon wins the Life Shield so they don't go home. Well that's my weekend. Now I've got less than a week before Liz's wedding.

    Post-shower weekend

Last weekend was busy but not quite as busy as the weekend of the bridal shower.

Saturday - It was dumpster day in Caterbury Village. I didn't get to do some cleanup Friday night because of Star Wars so I woke up around 5:30 in the morning to bring palm fronds to the front yard. I climbed up the ladder to get fronds off of the roof and dragged them. I think I'll hire tree people to strip off some of the dead fronds so I don't have so much of a problem next year. Liz shows up around 7:30 to help out. Bernard helps drag fronds because this year they decide to have the dumpster near Joan Court instead of near Junie's house. Then I did some weeding while waiting for the notary. It took almost 2 hours to sign loan and escrow papers. So I should be getting money to buy out Liz on Friday. Then went to the mall to return stuff that I bought and didn't use for the bridal shower. I finally found Santana hibiscus at Yardbirds. also bought another eggplant plant and strawberry plants. By the time i got home it was too late plant them so i'll just plant them this weekend. It's Michelle V's graduation day but was too busy to go to the party in Sacramento. Oh well! Liz stopped by the party on her way to Lake Tahoe to give her our graduation gift. I'll see her a the wedding anyways.

Sunday - Did the usual Sunday routine--Starbucks, Target and Church in the morning. After church went to eat at Fuddruckers with Auntie Irma, Auntie Tess, Hazel and EJ. They wanted to go to Factory Outlet Stores in Vacaville but I need to move my bedroom furniture downstairs and clean before picking up mom and auntie ely at SFO. Too much to do and didn't leave until 7. Liz was running late too. Was planning to leave at 6 because their flight arrives at 7:30 (or so we're told) but planned on getting there a little later because auntie ely has to go through the non-US citizen line. By the time I got there they were waiting. Turns out mom changed to a cheaper flight that arrived at 5:30 which means they were there for a couple of hours. Then I went to Auntie Irma's so they can follow me to Liz's house. We hung out at Liz & Brian's for a couple of hours so I slept late.

Monday - Left work early and got home a little after 7pm after picking up prescription for infection. Thought I should get home early so as not to keep anyone waiting. but I ended up waiting for everyone. Mom, Auntie Ely, and Bernard went to the oriental store, but came back and went to FoodMax because they forgot to bring money (it was funny at the time). Bev, Manny, and Siah showed up around 8:30. Played with Siah on the slide in the backyard. Then Auntie Irma, Hazel and EJ showed up. Then Liz and Brian arrived. They were all hungry so I told them they could eat because mom, Auntie Ely and Bernard ate. They eventuallly showed up. Siah is so funny. I love my godson. Ended up going to sleep late again.

Tuesday - Watched Star Wars Revenge of the Sith again. Got a free ticket to watch it at the Sony Metreon with Tony & Arlene from Church (courtesy of Wells Fargo's Consumer Credit Group). Saw Kathy, Liz's friend. Forgot to call and check if Lee went. Anyways, Hayden is such a hottie. When I watched Attack of the Clones I thought he was cute but he's too young at the time. He's a few years older now and he's definitely a hottie. Then went to cheesecake factory with Tony, Arlene, and Tony's uncle so I got home late (close to midnight). Mom kept calling saying to go home. Made me feel bad.

More on the rest of the week and my take on Revenge of the Sith for my next posts.

    Star Wars and Sony

I got to watch Star Wars Friday night at the Sony Metreon with Scott and loved it. I'm glad I bought tickets on Fandango weeks ago or I might not have had watched it the first weekend. I'll always love Star Wars and have to watch the first weekend--don't want anyone to ruin it for me. I remember Uncle Tonying taking Bernard, Liz and me to the Agana Theater on Guam to watch it. At first I thought he was dragging us to watch a Filipino movie. But when we got there and saw the lines we were confused then excited--at least I was. After I watched it, I was amazed and have been a fan since then. I loved Luke and Leia.

Hayden Christiansen was great. What a hottie! I know. He's too young. But for some reason I just like the young ones. I guess it started with James--being almost 3 years younger than me. Isn't that pathetic? Anyways on the train back, I kept thinking that I have to watch the "first" one again. Thought it was sad about Mace and the younglings and Padme. How could Anakin have done that???

Yoda was great. Wasn't really a big fan of Yoda at first but he's growing on me. Oh I saw Willie Brown coming out of one of the theaters while I was in concession line. Saw some cute guys. And of course Scott talked about Helen but I don't mind. At least he doesn't have "feelings" for me. I still miss James.

The E3 Sony party was Thursday night. Was wishing I could have gone especially after being PO'd last year. It was slow Friday so I went to lunch with dave, lisa, and derrick. We got dim sum then got gelato afterwards. I was late for a meeting with Michelle and Richard, but it was worth it. Ira talking to Derrick about the next time we go out to eat to invite him. Michelle will be out at interviews so I get the office all to myself.

A recruiter called me on Thursday regarding a Hal Riney/Publicis Mgmt Sup position on the HP account. I would work with Angela Nieman again and on DRTV which would be great. I thought Holly was the mgmt sup. I guess she quit. I haven't called to recruiter back...probably won't since it's HP and all the re-orgs. Mark M sent an email about a VISA contract job. Marcela asked if I want to work at ECI as a studio manager. Would like to but I don't have extensive experience with quark and photoshop. I only know enough to get by with personal things. Remember working with quark for my printing class at RIT. Also worked on quark at C&W for New Business. Niall also recommended me to his boss. Cool. If I get even more frustrated. I've got options.

That was my Thursday and Friday night. More about the weekend in my next blog.

    16 May

    Another busy weekend

I finished printing hearts, volleyballs, and labels for the favors. I was able to leave work early on Friday...early enough to look for better shower curtains and slip covers at JC Penney's and wrapping paper at Dollar Daze. Then I went home. I checked the roof but didn't see where water would go through. How can it be? Iit hadn't rained in days. Then I watered the plants and finished cutting stickers and labels then finished putting the favors together. At around 11:30 I went to FoodMax to get food and drinks for the shower. I was just about to pay when they said that the registers were going to be closed for 20-30 minutes. I couldn't wait so I went to Nation's to buy a cheesecake. Then I went to Safeway in Clayton to buy lasagna and chips because Albertson's and Safeway in Concord was closed. Kinda glad I went to the Clayton Safeway even though it was a little out of the way. I saw a cute guy. Then I went back to FoodMax to buy drinks, salad mix, and salad dressing. Went home and did some cleaning. I ended up sleeping around 4:30. Saturday morning. Woke up shortly after 7am. Finished cleaning the living room, dining room, bathroom downstairs. I also finished cleaning the bathroom upstairs as I showered and got ready. Liz was busy with the garage sale. I'm glad that she was able to pick up the chairs before I left because I didn't have time to pick them up. I was hoping to leave the house at 9 but I didn't leave until 10:30. Went to Bed Bath & Beyond to buy shower curtain rings. Then I went to Costco to buy plates, roasted chicken, and desserts (cookies and brownies). The lines were long so I didn't leave until around 11:45. I was in one line then moved to shorter one. But they had to switch cashiers. If I had stayed in the line that I was in I would have gotten done 3 minutes earlier. I still had to buy mashed potatoes/gravy, pick up the lumpia, and buy ice. On my way to Boston Market I decided to just order mashed potatoes at Claim Jumpers. It would cost more but I wouldn't have to wait too long. On my way to Goldilocks there was a lot of traffic on Monument then on Contra Costa Blvd. When I got to Goldilocks I ended up waiting behind a couple that took forever to order. If only I had gotten there 1 minute earlier I wouldn't have had to wait for almost 10 minutes. Along with the lumpia, I also bought mocha rolls. Then I went to Claim Jumpers. Glad there was take-out parking but I had to wait another 5 minutes for the cashier. By the time I got home it was 12:30. Jan and Kristin were decorating. Only 30 minutes before the party started and I still had to finish preparing food. Jan was also preparing food. I felt flustered because I had everything had to be properly set up because of Jan. Had to fix the shower curtains. I didn't get to clean my room. I forgot to move the bucket from the leak. I forgot to take out all the desserts. I forgot about the salad. Forgot to take more pictures. Forgot to give out rings and numbers as people arrived because I was too busy getting the food ready. Didn't really start until about 1:30. DAMN!! We only got to play 5 out of the more than 7 games that I had planned. Oh well! It was fun. Liz got lots of gifts. People kept saying that soon it's my turn. I wish. But I think it's too late. Jan, Kristin, Robin, and Annette helped clean up. Then they were off to Liz's house. I decided to stay back because I was too tired. I ended up watching baseball. Then I realized that I should return Siah's ball. Called Bev who said that he also forgot his baseball cap. Decided to go over to Auntie Irma's and hang out. Brought the ball, the cap, some balloons, and some food. Hung out for about 2 hours. Then went to Liz's to bring mail and Jan's plate. After an hour they decided to get burritos. But I wasn't hungry so I didn't go. Ended up going to Home Depot to look for hibiscus. Didn't find any. Then went to Nations. Then went home, watched tv, and went to sleep around 11. Woke up at 8:30 even though I had planned to wake up at 7am because I had to clean my room before the appraiser showed up. Didn't finish cleaning until around 9:30. Then I took a quick shower. Liz showed up just minutes before the appraiser showed up.Helped Liz load the chairs to be returned while appraiser took measurements. She was done around 10:20 so I finished getting ready. I didn't have time to get coffee. Damn. Went to Church. Allergies acting up through out mass. DAMN. Then went to Zheng Long for lunch. Shopped at Ross, went to Starbucks for a frappucino, shopped at Ann Taylor, Target, Navlet and Longs. Went home. Gardening. Planted San Francisco Fog tomatoes. Watched tv, surfed Internet, finished laundry. Moved boxes from upstairs to downstairs. Went to sleep. Woke up late for work.Oh well! Hit traffic on Treat. Never again. At least I caught a train that wasn't full. Went to the first car where I was able to get a window seat. YEA!! Worked. Had lunch brought in from Sam's Grill. Tried to help Alexa with New Business but wasn't successful. Kinda getting frustrated at work. On my way back from walking Alexa to Venables Bell, bumped into Niall and his boss. Niall tells him that I'm a great project manager so he gives me his business card. I don't think I'll use it but I'll keep it just in case. Also thought I saw Carmen Policy. Everyone in LA at E3 except Warren. Left work around 6 and went shopping at Ann Taylor loft. Found a nice dress but because of the Keratosis Pillaris scars it didn't look good. DAMN! Went to get dinner at El Pollo Loco. Bumped into Sharon Pablo from Santa Barbara School in Guam, her husband and son. First noticed that the son was playing with a PSP. Then her husband comes up to me and asks if my name is Cora. I say yes. Talked to Sharon. Will call her when things calm down after Liz's wedding. Wedding is getting closer. Still no one to go with. Gotta prepare myself for more questions about my personal life. Oh how I wish that I'll find a guy. But it's not going to happen. I wish I can go to the Sony party because I didn't get to go last year after having helped out at E3. Oh well! Watching Hercules. Kinda choppy and acting was a bit awkward. But it was a good story. Didn't get to watch Inferno II because of it but I taped it so I'm going to watch it now. Love Landon. At first I didn't think he was cute. I used to think that CT was cute. Now I don't. I think it's their attitudes that's changed my opinions of them. Still love Mike the Miz. Gotta go and watch so I can go to bed. Here's to the end of one busy week. Another one to come but not as quite as busy. Gotta move my stuff downstairs. Gotta buy new curtains for my room. Gotta fix the "yellow room" to be converted to the "office". Gotta buy paint and furniture. Can't wait to get money from the loan. Kinda nervous owning the house all by myself. At least I'll gain equity. If I do get married I'll sell the house which will help with getting a house with my husband. If not, I'll sell and get a condominium. (hoping that doesn't happen but I gotta prepare myself because it's getting late and chances are slim) Oh well. I'll always have my dreams. Gotta prepare for mom, Michelle & family, and Raquel. Gotta plan vacation.

    Even busier

Pre-bridal shower week. On Wednesday, I went shopping again (Longs for video tape and Burlington Coat Factory, Mervyn's, K-Mart, Walmart, Target for slipcovers and shower curtains), wrapped prizes for the games. Thursday, Had a doctor's appointment but was a little late because of traffic. Damn I hate traffic. Doctor still wants me to get a mammogram and see a surgeon about the gallstones. Got a booster shot because my Hep B immunity was low. Took 10 minutes to find parking and missed my train by 1/2 a minute so I had to wait 15 minutes for the next one. Left work around 6pm and went shopping at Ross Pleasant Hill, Bed Bath & Beyond, Ross Walnut Creek. Worked on the favors again.Cleaned the upstairs bathroom shower stall and toilet. There was a leak in the laundry room. So pissed off. I'll check the roof to try to fix the leak. Only Thursday still had a lot to do. Preparing myself to be busy on Friday and Saturday.

    Busy, busy, busy

It's the last weekend before Liz's bridal shower. I knew it was going to busy. On Friday, I was hoping to leave earlier than usual but ended up working late. I also spent an extra hour at work printing volleyball and heart stickers for the favors. Saturday, I rented a steam cleaner, cleaned the carpets, rented chairs, went to the dentist, went to Michael's to buy more bridal shower and wedding stuff, went to Tapp Plastics to check out plastic containers per Lisa's suggestion but didn't find anything good, went to Boswell's to buy heart containers for favors, went to the Mall (Crabtree & Evelyn, Body Shop, Yankee Candles, Crepes), went to Longs to buy more carpet cleaner and bottled water, finished cleaning carpets, cleaned (living room), went to FoodMax to buy drinks. On Sunday, I returned steam cleaner, went to church, shopped at Broadway Plaza, went to Vallejo visit Bev and Josiah for Mother's Day, went to Target and Michael's for more bridal showe shopping, did more cleaning (living room, dining room, kitchen, 1/2 bath, backyard), began putting favors together, and load documents. On Monday, I ended up working late because of Ira and continued putting favors together. On Tuesday, I went Costco to buy toilet paper, watched Gilmore Girls and One Tree Hill (cried...love Nathan and Haley, love Lucas and Brooke). Only half way through the week. Still not yet done. Too much to do. So tired. Can't wait till it's all done.

    End of Third Watch

This weekend will be a busy one. In addition to running my usual errands (gardening, laundry, dishes, shopping, church), I have to clean the house and make favors for Liz's wedding. Left work late to finish printing decorations. Got home in time to watch Third Watch...the last episode. I was just starting to watch it regularly again. Like the Sasha and Ty story. And there was that new guy, Brendan. Didn't much care for Sgt. Cruz. Oh well, another good show has ended. Sad! It was a pretty intense and a little gruesome.

    Drummer James

So I've been thinking about James a lot. Not just to forget about HIM. But when I listen to some of my favorite music I start to drum with my fingers. Then I start to imagine him as the drummer. I remember how I thought that it's amazing that I probably saw him at a concert and thought he was cute even before I met him. I remember how much I adored watching him with his drums. I remember him teaching me how to play drums. I remember how he used to practice with his drumsticks and silly putty at the strangest places...at the BART station, at the college, at work. I still have the pictures of him with percussion instruments...drum set, tympani, quads. I don't know why but drummers are my favorite musicians (tied with singers of course). Oh how I adored James, my sexy drummer boy.

    Better Day

I'm still angry at him. I wanna say that I hate HIM. But I really don't hate anyone. I wanna hate HIM just so I can get over him. I should have told him the status of a file earlier in the day but I didn't until the afternoon.

I got to see Josiah 2x today. First Bev surprised me by asking if I was free for lunch because she, Manny, and Josiah were in the city. Good thing status meeting ended shortly after 11:30. I met them at the corner of Sutter and Stockton so they can park at the garage. Then we went to lunch at the basement/dungeon. They got Japanese and I got Filipino. Siah had his head shaved. He's still cute but not as cute with hair. He also wore the SF Giants baseball cap I got him. He loves carrots. He was also eating chicken. But he didn't like broccoli. He spit it out. He makes the cutest faces. Then I brought them to the office. Introduced them to my co-workers. Manny likes the PlayStation stuff. Then I walked them to the car.
So I finally gave him updates. I'm trying not chat more than what's necessary.

I was going to do more work when I got home but Liz told me Bev was going to her new house. So I watered some of the plants. Got the favors and Liz's laundry. Then went to Auntie Irma's and watch American Idol with them before we left for Liz's. Siah was there of course and he's so cute. He's so smart...playing with the balloon, playing with the balls, playing with the box, looking like he's a football player. Then we went to Liz's. Siah is so active and loves to climb...the kitchen counter and the rails. I just love him. We talked about housing, wedding, family, jobs, and such. Didn't leave until around 10:45. Got Jack in the Box. Got home at 11:15. Now I'm blogging. Gotta go. Sleepy but I gotta fiinish watching Gilmore Girls.
